Bovine Molecular Immunology Group

The bovine molecular immunology group studies genes and molecules involved in the immune response of cattle to infectious pathogens. Our areas of interest are the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) genes and natural killer (NK) cell receptor genes.

We are currently involved in three main areas:

  • MHC diversity in commercial cattle herds
  • Utilising the MHC to dissect immune responses to infection and vaccination
  • Exploring the interactions between MHC and NK receptors
